Feel great with Teeccino

You love the smell of coffee in the morning? You are not yourself without the first cup in the morning? Well, I know how you must feel.

Teeccino – French Roast

I LOVE coffee especially cappuccino. I look forward to get up in the morning just to get the fresh cup of coffee to go.

The sad thing about coffee is the caffeine content. It makes you feel addicted to coffee or cause jitters. I used to get headaches if I would skip one day without coffee because my body is used to it.

Some of the side effects causes by too much caffeine:

– high blood pressure

– diarrhea

– rapid heartbeat

– increased urination

– might affect your fertility

As I student you get used to drink a lot of coffee to keep up with your studies which is not healthy. Also if you want to get pregnant it is better to cut back on your caffeine intake.

How can you possibly not drink coffee when you just love the smell of it and also the rusty flavor?

Well here is the answer –

I bought Teeccino when I was in the US. Teeccino has the rich flavor of coffee with the health benefits of herbal tea. Due to the nutrients it gives you a natural boost of energy without being a stimulant. Teccino is a blend of herbs, grains, fruits and nuts which are roasted and grounded.

Ingredients:

– Carob

– Barley

– Chicory root

– Dates & figs

– Ramon seeds

– Almonds

– Natural flavors

– Dandelion root

I bought the french roast one at whole foods and it was about 10 Dollars.

Would I recommend Teeccino?

Of course I do! I still do enjoy one cup of cappuccino in the morning but then throughout the day when I feel like having a cup of coffee I would go with Teeccino. The great thing is it does not interfere with your sleep.

I usually drink Teeccino with milk and sometimes with a little bit of sugar and it is just perfect!

Try Teeccino!

Coco Love

Every new year I start with the resolution of drinking more water to keep me hydrated. The majority of your body is made of water and your cells NEED water to function properly.

Still I fail each time to keep up with the minimum of 1.5l of water per day. I love drinking tea but I never feel like drinking water unless I am already dehydrated and thirsty which is a BAD sign.

If you feel thirsty it indicates that your body is dehydrated and may affect your health.

A beverage which is similar to water but tastes much better and gives you nutrients too is coconut water. It is the perfect drink when you enjoy it chilled in those hot summer days.

Reason why you should give coconut water a try:

– low in calories

– helps you lose weight

– makes your skin glow (beauty)

– better digestion

– isotonic

– nutrients (potassium, magnesium calcium and more)

– hydration

My favorite one is from Chi organic which is depicted on the picture.

It is 100% raw organic. No added sugar, no preservatives, 100% pure, never heated, cold extracted and not from concentrate. The water is from young Thai Nam-Hom coconut. It is definitely a luxury version as it costs about 5 Dollars at my grocery store. The taste is so amazing so I enjoy it now and then.

Lean back and enjoy some coconut water feeling like you are on an beautiful island..

Channa Masala with Quinoa

In todays hectic world we mostly eat quickly and grab food on the way. To live a healthy life it is crucial to know what you eat and take up in your body. I want to know what I eat and which nutrients I take into my body hence I try as much as I can to cook my meals myself.

Due to the fact that I have an indian background I like to cook indian food now and then.

Who can live without spicy food? Nobody right.. hehe.

Anyways I want to share this recipe with you guys which is a healthier alternative of Curry with Rice.

Cook your Quinoa according to the instructions of the package

Channa Masala

– finely chop one onion into small pieces

– cut 2 tomatoes into small cubes

– dice chillies according to your desire of spiciness (you will add chili powder too)

– heat up a pan with a little bit of oil

– season the oil with cumin seeds, fennel seeds and mustard seeds

– add the chopped onions and fry until golden brown

– add the diced tomatoes until it becomes a little bit like a paste

– add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste to increase the flavor and get the right consistency

– parallely drain the chickpeas (already cooked ones) or the freshly cooked chickpeas which needed       to be soaked in water overnight (I prefer the fresh chickpeas cooked by myself)

– add the chickpeas to the paste

– now is the time to add a little bit of water

– include 1-2 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of garam masala, a pinch of tumeric powder and salt to taste

– let it simmer for about 15-20 min until you get the right consistency

Serve hot with Quinoa.

Enjoy!
